Classic keyboards continue to be used on many pop, R&B, jazz, hiphop, and triphop tunes. If you've been looking, we don't need to tell you that quality samples of these instruments are hard to find. Our Real Rhodes collection is intended to meet a real need. It is dedicated to the Fender Rhodes, but also includes samples of other classic keys of cult status. It is the only quality sample collection of its kind. The samples are 16 bit, 44.1Khz. They are velocity switched and fully programmed.
Authentic? You bet! When you play a Fender Rhodes, there is a more going on than a simple brightening of the sound as a filter opens up in response to velocity. There are actual timbral changes. This is true for Wurlitzer, Pianet, and DX Rhodes. For this collection the "spank" tonalities were actually sampled in order to give you the most realistic rendering of the orginal.
In addition to dry samples, this collection features amped electric pianos that were played through either a Rhodes Satelite speaker or a Fender Bandmaster for more of a "live" sound.
Real Rhodes is available in Akai and Kurzweil formats. The programming for Akai and Kurzweil format disks implements the sampler's respective multi-effects expansion. Convenient effects presets are provided. If you do not have an Akai effects board, your sampler will simply ignore the effects parameters. Many of the effects use filter actions that work on Akai samplers with and without an effects expansion board. Both Kurzweil versions of Real Rhodes take full advantage of the Kurzweil effects engines.
Real Rhodes gives you well over 160 megs of new samples for you to work with. The sounds are multi-sampled and cover the 88 keys. The samples average 9 to 12 megs each. You should have at least 16 megs of sample RAM.
