WINGS: THE COMPLETE TECHNIQUE DVD features a private "Wings of Isis" workshop with Ayshe, New York City dance artist, instructor, choreographer and designer who was the first to introduce this spectacular and demanding prop into the bellydance vocabulary.

The challenge of working with the Wings is in developing and maintaining the "line" of the body -- a strong, elongated, arched silhouette bespeaking thoughtful study and practice. Wings are absolutely unforgiving: used in an amateurish manner, they will exaggerate postural ineptness and inadequate muscular control.

Drawing on her college concentration in Human Movement and from her training and experience in Western and Indian classical dance forms, as well as yoga, African, Middle Eastern, Flamenco, and modern dance, Ayshe has developed an effective method for training dancers to seamlessly incorporate the Wings into their onstage presentation: Ayshe's technique is based on layering Middle Eastern movements over classical form.

In this over 2-hour-long workshop, Ayshe offers masterful advice on the most crucial aspects of working with the Wings:developing flexibility of the spine and correct execution of movements based on spinal wave, arms positions and articulation.

You will learn many exciting secrets to some of the most effective Wings dance moves: wing swirls, pivot turns, kicks, layouts, arabesques, wing tremor, barrel turns, whirling with the wings, and graceful, sexy dance walks for all performance occasions.

Certain aspects of dancing with the Wings are similar to performing with the Veil. If you dance with the veil, you will certainly benefit from the dance training treasures recorded on this DVD.
